(I wrote this on Saturday...)
Ah… Wife isn't around, dogs are settled after a long walk in the woods (I did find a few ticks, though. Be mindful…) and I've got a huge cup of coffee and slice of apple pie. Time to read the paper, surf the web and just relax on this fine
caturday.
In one of my previous posts, I mentioned holster selection and the opinions of two law enforcement trainers. One of the holsters that they opined on was the popular Blackhawk Serpa lock holster.
One of the first post I came across was by
Brigid of "Mausers and Muffins." Turns out her Serpa retention holster retained her Sig so well that it made it unusable!
I decided to check any results regarding the ALS mechanism, which was also described. I wasn't surprised when I heard that some of them fail
after they get gravel into 'em.
Next on it was a stop over to
Tam at "View from the Porch" to read some of her thoughts and observations from a gun class she took over the summer. She describes quite a few of the guns that were in attendance as having broken down...
Again, as with yesterdays "Self Defense" post, I'm beginning to see a pattern…
It seems that proofing one's gear in many different situations, trying to find points of failure is not a bad idea. I'd think that this advice holds true for hunters and fisherman as well.
